Inside Out Faith with Jennifer Knapp
Music and Musings about the journey of life, finding love and being a gay person of faith.
Jennifer Knapp is a Grammy nominated and Dove Award winning artist with a successful career spanning over ten years. But there’s more to Jennifer Knapp than her music. At an Inside Out Faith event, the songs become the key to unlocking her story.
As Jennifer takes the stage and the conversation unfolds, you will see an intimate side of the artist emerge, adding newfound depth and meaning to her music and lyrics. These are the musings of an honest, vulnerable and questioning soul, living out a journey of life, love and faith. It is unapologetic storytelling at its best.
Jennifer weaves her narrative with her music, and naturally draws participation from the audience, answering questions and sharing candid revelations of her experiences as a gay person of faith. This is unquestionably a human journey, one that resonates with shared expressions of love, acceptance and the challenge to embrace a more encompassing perspective for your own life’s story.
Jennifer will be on tour with Inside Out Faith throughout the United States in the Fall of 2011 and Spring of 2012.

ON JUNE 25th, 2011 JENNIFER PERFORMS AT THE WILD GOOSE FESTIVAL IN SHAKORI HILLS, NC.
What is The Wild Goose Festival?
The Wild Goose Festival is a music, art and conversation festival at the intersection of justice and spirituality. It is rooted in the Christian tradition seeking to welcome all regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexuality, background or belief.
Why Wild Goose?
In the Celtic Church the image of the Wild Goose has long been held as a symbol for the wild, unpredictable, and untamable nature of the Holy Spirit.
The Wild Goose Festival, in adopting the image of the goose, recognizes that MYSTERY is at the heart of the experience of all peoples of faith. It also recognizes that in the face of social, political, or religious conflict mystery is often first to be sacrificed for the sake of security and control.
The Wild Goose Festival believes that in the current climate of social and political cynicism, embracing the mystery of the spirit is perhaps our greatest tool for re-building and strengthening relationships between human beings, and between human beings and the divine. In that spirit Wild Goose seeks to create a safe and respectful space for contentious conversations in a fun and festive setting in an atmosphere open and welcoming to all.
Who would go to The Wild Goose Festival?
People who like to have FUN! The Wild Goose Festival is not just about relevant topics and probing conversation. Singer songwriter Jennifer Knapp’s latest album, Letting Go, debuts at #73 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. The Grammy nominated, Dove Award winning artist returns from a seven year hiatus with several high profile interviews including an hour on CNN’s Larry King Live.
Knapp continues to tour and will also perform on this summer’s Lilith Fair Tour. Recorded in Nashville, Letting Go is produced by Paul Moak (Mat Kearney, Martha Wainwright, Amy Grant) and features ten intimate folk, country tinged rock songs showcasing her astonishing straightforwardness and spirituality.
Knapp’s impressive history includes selling over one million albums with her previous releases Kansas (debut 1998), Lay It Down (2000), and The Way I Am (2001). The Kansas-born musician toured the globe with artists such as Jars of Clay and was featured on 1999’s Lilith Fair tour. She received critical acclaim with The Los Angeles Times calling her “a rising star” and People Magazine describing her as “an uncommonly literate songwriter.” Jennifer went on to win her first Dove Award in 1999 for Best New Artist, scored a Grammy nod in 2002 and another Dove nomination in 2003. With a considerable fan base, critical and commercial successes, Knapp walked away from it all at the height of her career. After seven years of soul searching and time spent in Australia, Knapp comes full circle with Letting Go.
